Back to Art, Chaos, and Cat‑Mum Life
Wonder if anyone missed me here. I’ve been busy working on artworks since Sunday, and the kids returned on Tuesday (just for 2.5 days). I couldn’t spare any time to post my blog.
China factory’s business has been good, but they don’t have enough manpower to work on the artworks (converting bitmap images to vector files). Since I had some free time and I enjoy this kind of work, I asked them to send me the files. It’s not as easy as I thought. There are conditions — all fine lines must be thicker than 0.26mm, and the total number of colors cannot exceed eight. I tried using AI to help, but AI still can’t merge similar tones into one. Hopefully this improves soon.
The kids have been away for two weeks. I missed them so much, especially Cross. I was so happy when Ginger brought them back. Cross looks bigger now, but Robyne is still as tiny as before. I tried to be patient with her, but her trust issues haven’t changed. Petting her is still a challenge. I don’t want to grab or touch her because she will spray her “scent” on the wall or floor, and that smell is very hard to remove. And yes… my nightmare happened again.
On the morning of the 7th (Thursday), after they were fed and nursed, I tried to take Robyne out so I could focus on my artwork. When Cross and Robyne play in the living room, they make a lot of noise. And Ginger won’t stop meowing if everyone stays inside. Ginger and Cross are easy — I just show them the way and they walk out. But I missed the chance to guide Robyne right after nursing. Ginger and Cross were already outside, but no matter how many times I asked Robyne to go out, she just sat under the sofa. Chasing her is never fun. And of course, while I was trying, Ginger and Cross came back in again.
I had no choice but to corner Robyne so I could catch her. Big mistake. When she gets stressed, she sprays — a clear liquid you can’t see, but the pungent “stinky-feet” smell lingers for days. When I finally caught her, she even tried to poo. Luckily I moved her to the litter box in time, though she screamed loudly. Ginger got worried. I quickly put Robyne outside, Ginger followed, and I took Cross out too. But the smell… it’s still here today.
The house was quiet the whole afternoon. I made them dinner, but after eating, Ginger took them away again. I miss Cross already. I treasure every moment I get to play with him. I just hope Ginger brings them back after another two weeks.
Yesterday morning, Ginger didn’t come back for breakfast. She spent the whole night outside with Cross and Robyne. I went to look for her and found her almost immediately — but she stopped to poo, and it was diarrhea. Then she walked a bit more and stopped again. She puked twice, and two small pieces of glass came out of her mouth. Thankfully the edges weren’t sharp. I have no idea what she ate during the night. I hope this is just a one-time incident. She roams freely in the neighbourhood, and worrying about Ginger has become part of my daily life.
