When People Push Your Limits
A lot has been happening over the last few days. I haven’t been pissed at anyone for a long time, but Ravi really pushed me over the edge. I used to share half the office with my friend Andy. He paid six months’ rent in advance to the landlord, and I would pay him back every three months after deducting my share of the electricity bill. A couple of years ago, Andy sold the business to his partner, Ravi. I never liked Ravi for various reasons, but I tried to get along with him because I didn’t have much choice.
Nine months ago, Ravi asked to switch to quarterly rent payments. I made the request to the landlord, and he agreed. But because of the electricity bill, the quarterly payment from him to the landlord and the quarterly payment from me to Ravi ended up being one month apart.
Two months ago, the lease was about to expire, and the landlord proposed a new rental rate. I discussed it with Ravi, and he said he didn’t want to bear the lease anymore. He asked for a two-year non-breakable lease. I relayed the request to the landlord, and he agreed.
Then, the day before yesterday, when I sent Ravi the invoice for the rent and contract, he suddenly said he would only pay half. He didn’t care about the agreement we had. He just did whatever he wanted. I had no say, and he didn’t care whether I had enough funds to cover the payment. I had just paid him rent last month for the previous three months, business hasn’t been good, and he changed the agreement without even giving me a heads-up.
It made me extremely angry, but I forced myself to stay calm because I don’t want my psoriasis to flare up. I’m just hoping business picks up soon. I’m also working hard on the artwork jobs. With this job, I believe I can take over the lease soon — and then I’ll kick him out.
Yesterday, Robyne finally climbed back down and came for dinner. But shortly after eating, she puked 🤮. Most likely it’s because she hadn’t eaten anything for many days, and her stomach couldn’t handle food suddenly. She’s so thin and lightweight compared with Cross. I did say I was giving Robyne up, but seeing her like this makes me really sad.
This evening, I asked Ginger to call for them during dinner time, but Ginger was distracted by another cat nearby. I didn’t see Cross or Robyne tonight. I’m not sure if Ginger will bring them back later. I’m really worried about Robyne now.
