I’m referring to the local people. I hate them for many reasons, and lying is the biggest one. I know “hate” is a very strong word. I still remember Carl once telling me that if I use the word “hate,” then half of my heart becomes hostile and dark. Is that what I want — a dark heart? It’s just difficult for me to accept the local culture of lying.
But to my surprise, the plumber came yesterday to fix the broken tap. He was the one who installed it, and he knows very well how poor the quality of that tap was. Yet he still came to fix the problem. One less disgruntled feeling toward him. And I hope I won’t need to call anyone to fix anything again anytime soon.
Still, I can’t deny that I’m holding on to this feeling of “hate” toward the locals. I hope that one day they will change — and that their change will allow me to remove this “hate” from my heart.
